Squadron Leader, Robin Henry Palmer (101485)

Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died on the 25th May 1946. aged 30 years The son of Harry Palmer of Eston House, the mine agent for Eston Mines and Jane Widowfield Palmer. Robin Henry was a Solicitor before enlisting in September 1940. Sqn/Ldr Robin Henry Palmer was flying Armed Forces Experimental Establishment Seafire III NN313 at an 'at home' air display at RAF Beaulieu located in the New Forest, Hampshire. With the weather deteriorating, the Seafire spun in off a low level roll. It crashed into the ground. The Seafire was destroyed and Palmer was killed instantly. "I WILL LIFT UP MINE EYES UNTO THE HILLS: FROM WHENCE COMETH MY HELP" Remembered With Honour Eston Cemetery. P.51H.M.S Fiji, Royal Navy who died on the 26th November 1943, at Horton Emergency Hospital, Epsom, aged 43 years. The son of Jack and Bertha Alice Lane, and husband of Edith Martha Lane of 4 The Avenue, Teesville. At The Going Down Of The Sun And In The Morning We Will Remember Them.
